This is the Reading, Writing, Maths and Science curriculum that your child will be exposed to in their class. By the end of the academic year, we hope that the average child at Roehampton Church School, will achieve approximately 75% of the curriculum of each of the subject areas for them to be considered as age expected. Some of you will be aware that your child is working below age expected and may or may not have Special Educational Needs. In these instances, your child is likely to be working towards expectations for a different year group.

What are common exception words?
Exception words are words in which the English spelling code works in an unusual or uncommon way. They are not words for which phonics ‘doesn’t work’, but they may be exceptions to spelling rules, or words which use a particular combintion of letters to represent sound patterns in a rare or unique way.
